Yesterday voting period of Merel AWARD 2007 ended after an exciting race between forensic medicine, oncology and gastroenterology. The winner of this outstanding scientific Award is Claas Buschmann, M.D., dpt. forensic medicine of University Hospital Charité Berlin. In his scientific poster he described a 15-year old teenager with methadone intoxication. This case was voted by the members of the club as the most interesting and best case/abstract (source: www.merel-club.de). The members of Merel Club were the committee and had to take the decision about the best case / abstract and this is the exceptional characteristic of this scientific Award, which was announced the first time. Merel Club - international, exclusive platform for medical practitioners and scientists - helps young professionals to optimize their performance. Beside the advantages of the Club regarding expansion of one’s personal network and international scientific exchange, particularly fellows can optimize their performance within the medical scene.

Skuril, abgefahren und ... wer im Arzt Job arbeitet bzw. es später einmal vor hat weiss es...verdammt realistisch.

Germany compared to other European countries with the worst ranking regarding childcare (source: GEO WISSEN).
22% of german women have no children – compared to 7% of childless women in Iceland these figures generate doubts about the situation
What is the reason for this? Women who are looking to much for their career? I don’t think so. Maybe it’s a mix of different factors but obviously a huge lack of underdeveloped possibilities of child care.


Recent engagement of certain politicians may open a wider corridor to face that problem…but we will see!?! In the next years it could become a race between generations.

Today again the case study about a 56 year old male patient with long standing reflux symptoms, who entered endoscopy unit and underwent endomicroscopy (described by Prof. Marcus Neurath et al.) took the lead in Merel Club regarding the scientific AWARD 2007. The currently leading abstract was submitted by Prof. Giuseppina Campisi describing oral complications in patients with head and neck cancer after radio-chemotherapy.

Under patronage of Prof. Dr. E. Jürgen Zöllner, senator for education, science and research in Berlin, an outstanding project was implemented last week. The charity event "auction for action" financially supports Berlin schools in poorer districts by selling art of young students at auction. My name is Daniel Zeidler (Chairman Club's constitution) and together with some friends from different countries we want to share new ideas with you...if you watch yourself as an innovative thinker - seeking for changes at any time and developing yourself at first and after that society and business.

In October 2007 this international think-tank and virtual platform Thinker's Club was reactivated in a more structured way compared to the early days of birth in 2006, when we...

...arrived at a turning point of history. The forthcoming entrance into a new era which is called the „NEXT GLOBAL STAGE“ by recognized sociologists, business and political scientists, offers the possibility to participate in constructing the architecture of global developments and processes actively. These fundamental considerations as well as a discontent with various occurrences led to a community - independent of their origin, culture, religion or political conviction - exchanging thoughts and ideas and working on concepts, which are to introduce short-, middle- and long-term changes.

Thinker´s Club was born in July 2006 and is driven by a lot of idealism but with a healthy portion of business experiences particularly with adaptive change processes. Since establishing the Club world-wide more than 80 Innovators from all areas and different kind of businesses committed themselves to accompony each other.
